    Function of the Position:

    The Communication Coordinator supports Chapter Leadership in all aspects of chapter activities, including creating written and graphic material, preparation for and organization of activities, financials, distributing materials, and representing the Chapter through written and verbal communications.

    The Communication Coordinator must carry out the following tasks

    •  Create written and graphic documentation using Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and Formsite. 
    • Organize and implement projects including events, programs and educational programs.
    • Organize and maintain project files in a consistent manner.
    • Integration with and knowledge of local organizations, companies, and people within the Green Building Sector and related fields. 
    • Disperse news and updates about changes and important updates that occur within LEED and the Green Building Sector in general. 
    • Share and promote local events, educational opportunities, and legislative advocacy updates.
    • Manage multiple tasks from multiple people with potentially conflicting deadlines
    • Research and documentation to support project needs.
    • Creation and maintenance of chapter websites. 
    • Membership & Sponsor satisfaction and helping solve issues members pose as well as general membership and sponsorship outreach. 
    • Creation and maintenance of membership database and communications
    • Manage their own time with clear communication to the team regarding project status and requests for additional information.



    • In process to complete a BS Architecture or BARCH Degree OR within another field related to sustainable environments. 
    • LEED Green Associate, preferred


    • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills with diligent attention to detail.
    • Effective collaboration skill within a team environment.
    • Exceptional conceptual design skills and the ability to translate them using a variety of methods including freehand sketches/renderings, graphic renderings, CAD drawings and computer models.
    • Adobe Design CS Suite, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
    • Experience with Wild Apricot or other template driven website software and maintenance.
    • Formulating professional and captivating e-blasts using MailChimp
    • Demonstrated experience in and passion for the sustainable built environment and related issues, as well as understanding the importance of accurate information and analysis to guide environmental decision-making.
    • Event Planning 


    $12 - $15 an hour dependent on experience


    10 - 20 hours per week depending on work load
